ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT WINE EVENTS IN ASIA AWARDS OUR WINES IN ITS LATEST EDITION
Valdemonte Brut, Viloria Gran Reserva and Bacosol red wine have been the winners with the gold medal, while the silver has been for Valdemonte red wine. A great harvest that multiplies by two the medals obtained in the previous edition. For this reason, the team at Bodegas Fernando Castro is very proud after having participated in this international wine competition of wide prestige throughout Asia, whose jury is made up of women from the Japanese wine industry. The Asian market is one of the most fruitful for our company, so being present at this type of event is always a pleasure for us.
For almost a decade, this contest has been held in the cities of Tokyo and Osaka, with the aim of making visible the role of women in our industry. For this reason, an all-female jury has been in charge of assessing the proposals that have come to the contest since its first edition. Currently, the level of participation and quality projected by this event is such that it has not only become one of the most prominent in Asia, but in the whole world.
Our red wines have triumphed for their good structure, as well as for the different fruit nuances they offer, together with the touch of wood from the Viloria Gran Reserva, presenting a wide variety of options for different types of palates. In addition to this recognition for our red wines, is added a new one for our sparkling Valdemonte, ideal for celebrations and aperitifs, which the jury have known how to value.
This 2022 has brought us a 9th edition held between the Hotel Gajoen in Tokyo, on April 4, and the Hotel Nikko in Osaka, 9 days later. A total of 430 professionals from the Japanese wine industry have been the expert tasters, rating more than 4,500 wines from 25 different countries.
