Winegrowers by family tradition, Bodegas Fernando Castro has 380 hectares of vines, nailed in the Finca Los Altos, personally supervised by the Castro Family. Because we know that the grape variety defines the personality of the wine, we grow difference types of grapes. This means we can make wines with a unique style and personality so you can always find the perfect wine for every occasion.
Tempranillo, Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah … are the varieties we use for our red wines. Of these, Tempranillo (also known as Cencibel) is unquestionably the most representative grape of our vines. An early-ripening grape with a moderate production output, Tempranillo produces intensely aromatic wines that are ideal for ageing both in the barrel and the bottle.
Airén, Macabeo, Chardonnay, Verdejo, Sauvignon Blanc … are the varieties we use to make our white wines. Airén is a strong variety that has adapted very well to this region. Its thick-skinned, round grapes and regular colour imbue wines with fresh, clean and fruity aromas.
